My research focuses on the roles migration plays in immunology and pathogen transmission. Using a combination of field and laboratory techniques, I study seasonal trends in Mexican free-tailed bat pathogen transmission, and explore how individual immunity is affected by their migration.
Background
BS: Microbiology, Colorado State University, Dec. 2020
Developing Intestinal epithelial cell line from Artibeus jamacensis
MS: Biology, University of Oklahoma, Dec 2024
Identifying seasonality of immunity and viral shedding in Mexican Free-tailed bats.
Interests
I am interested in building collaboration between traditional molecular labs, and field research labs to investigate how disease is managed in wild systems. I am primarily interested in disease ecology of small mammals, with bats being my primary study system. Currently, I am a Master student in the Becker Lab at the University of Oklahoma.
